ABOUT NATHAN MEADE

I was born in Marseilles, France in 1981. My family moved back to the United States shortly thereafter. I was raised along with my two sisters in Mesa, Arizona. From early on I always had a fascination with the movies.

In my early teens I began to fall in love with photography. With an old Olympus OM-1 in hand, I would take pictures of details, objects, and spaces that normally go unnoticed.

At age 17, I landed an internship at MPS Educational Television. This is where it all came together. I now knew where I belonged - directly behind the camera.

I quickly worked my way up to a full-time position at Educational Television as their lead videographer. During this time I also earned an AAS Degree in Motion Picture/Television Production, at Scottsdale Comunity College.

I then moved to Los Angeles, California and worked at Filmtools while continuing part-time work in videography. I was offered a job at Corporate Video and Film, where I worked for another year.

I moved back to Arizona in September of 2004 where I got married and returned to the same position at Educational Television. During this time I was involved in starting a media group called Re:Sound Creative Media. The group had the opportunity to enter a couple film festivals, create a couple short productions and hold some events for the Art Walk in Phoenix.

My wife and I moved back to California in February where our first child was born two months later. I returned to my job at Corporate Video and Film and continue to work for other productions in the camera and lighting departments on a freelance basis. I currently reside in Long Beach with my wife, son and foster child.

I love spending time with my family and friends. Capturing my world through the lens of a camera remains one of my favorite pastimes. I love the outdoors, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, or just going to the beach. I also like music and occasionally will dust off my guitar to play some improvised tunes. I discovered the thrill of skydiving in 1999, and although I am currently taking a break from the sport, I am still a licensed member of the USPA.
