BIOGRAPHY

Nathan Meade was born in Marseilles, France in 1981. His family moved back to the United States shortly thereafter. Nathan was raised along with his two sisters in Mesa, Arizona. From early on Nathan always had a fascination with the movies.

In his early teens he began to fall in love with photography. With an old Olympus OM-1 in hand, Nathan would take pictures of details, objects, and spaces that normally go unnoticed.

At age 17, he landed an internship at Mesa's educational access television station. This is where it all came together. Nathan now knew where he belonged - directly behind the camera.

He graduated from Mountain View High School in 1999 and was asked back to Educational Television as a part-time employee. He began film studies at Scottsdale Community College, where he worked on several student productions. He then took a full-time position at Educational Television as their lead videographer, while he finished up his schooling. During this time Nathan was also involved with his church as a leader for the youth group and as a musician for the college group.

After earning an AAS Degree in Motion Picture/Television Production, Nathan moved out to Los Angeles, California. Here he worked at Filmtools, selling production equipment and expendables while continuing part-time work in videography. At Filmtools he was introduced to new equipment and to some of the infrastructure that comes with working with the big studios. He was offered a job at Corporate Video and Film, where he worked for another year before moving back to Arizona.

Nathan Meade married in September of 2004. He and wife lived in Arizona for a couple of years where Nathan worked the same position at his old job at Educational Television. During this time he was involved in starting a media group called Re:Sound Creative Media. The group had the opportunity to enter a couple film festivals, create a couple short productions and hold some events for the Art Walk in Phoenix.

Nathan and his wife moved back to California in February where their son was born two months later. Nathan returned to his job at Corporate Video and Film and currently resides in Long Beach with his wife and son.


Nathan loves spending time with his little family of three and with his extended family and friends, as well. Capturing his world though the lens of a camera remains one of his favorite hobbies. He loves the outdoors, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, or just going to the beach. Nathan also likes music and occasionally will dust off his guitar to play some improvised tunes. He discovered the thrill of skydiving in 1999, and although he is currently taking a break from the sport, he is still a license-holding member of the USPA.
